Mr Walleye® Super RTR
"A 'Really Tough Rod' for all-around great fishing!" -Gary Roach
Designed for all-around everyday fishing Not every angler has a boat full of rods, and not everyone needs a different rod for every differ- ent situation. Gary knows not everyone has the budget for a full set of rods, and there are times when you just need a good all-around rod to have fun fishing. Gary created this series to address the need to have a durable, affordable rod you can count on day in and day out, whether you’re fishing every weekend, or once a year. Graphite construction base The base section of these blanks are con- structed from a special graphite composite material that keeps the weight down, but greatly increases the strength. This provides the firm base that can stand up to rigurous fishing. It's stronger and more durable than pure graphite, and more forgiving when it comes to stress. Solid glass tip section Most rod tips are tubular graphite or fiberglass, and the tip section is the most common point of failure on a rod. Tips break most often because of how the rod is used. It does take some experience and know-how to finesse in a fish that's really too large for the rod you're using. Since you can't predetermine what fish is going to be on the end of your line, you either have to know how to land it with the 'wrong' rod, or use a rod that can handle just about anything. To address that specific problem, Gary designed Super RTR with a solid glass top section that is fused into the tubular graphite composite blank. This gives the top of the rod unmatched strength in all fishing conditions. Lightweight stainless steel guides with Stainless rings The simple design of the stainless ring bound inside a stainless frame allows the use of all types of line - including Superlines and braids - while maintaining the light weight needed for proper rod balance. Contoured natural cork handle Gary wasn’t about to use EVA foam on one of his handles. Cork is the only way to go, even if it costs a bit more. The soft contour fits your hand well, and the handle lengths are long enough to fit just under your forearm. Heavy duty cross wrap The base of the rod is wrapped in a heavy cross wrap for extra strength and support, for when you have "the big one" on your line. Fixed hook keepers Gary fixes the proper location and size for the hook keeper on each rod. There is a right way and a wrong way to store your rods. Always use a hook keeper, and not the guide to hold the hook. Screw-down reel seats Our foregrips screw down to lock the reel in place, and are easy on your fingers and hands. They make it easy to change reels, yet lock securely.
