Bret Setterholm Organizes Ice Fishing Field Trip for Students

Mr. Walleye Specialties pro-staff member Bret Setterholm who is more importantly a 6th grade teacher at Battle Lake Elementary in Battle Lake, MN organized a field trip for students with fellow teacher Eric Olson as a reward for finishing a curriculum sponsored by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources called MinnAqua. Announcing the 2010 Gary Roach Pro-Am Walleye Tournament

ProLine Fishing is again proud to be a participating sponsor for Gary's annual Pro-Am Walleye Torunament to be held at Paradise Cove Resort in Minaki, Ontario, August 21st and 22nd. The tournament is open to pros and amateurs with separate prizes for each.

Entry fees for Pros are $400.00 CAN, $200 for partners, and $300 for Amateurs. Top prize $7,000.00 (professional) and $1,500.00 (amateur). ProLine will again be providing prizes as a part of the daily drawings and a bonus prize of $300 to the highest placing professional, and $100 to the highest placing amateur using Mr Walleye® fishing rods at the tournament.

ProLine at the St. Paul Ice Fishing Show

ProLine Fishing will be at the annual St Paul Ice Fishing Show, December 4th-6th. In addition, since this is a consumer show, Reeds and Joe's will both have product on hand to purchase. If you plan on attending the show, feel free to stop by to talk to Gary and see Icepro firsthand with it's designer. Gary will be in the booth on Saturday, but you will also find him walking the aisles during the whole show.

Angler lands 95lb Sturgeon with Mr Walleye® Rod!

A big salute to Steve Stang of Burnsville, MN, who landed this Sturgeon on the Chippewa River in Wisconsin. Steve says he was using a nightcrawler on 10 lb. test with his Mr Walleye® Series 6'6" Medium rod. After a battle that lasted 1 hour and 10 minutes, with the rod bending the whole time, Steve managed to finesse this 70-1/2", approximately 95lb. giant into his boat. Steve says his Mr Walleye® Series rod "gave me the great combination of flexibility and control that I needed to play this fish out as it ran, dove, jumped and crossed under the boat".

Congrats Steve, on your great success! We are very happy to have received your letter and photo and to have been an integral part of your fishing adventure!

New Products & Product Line Revisions are Final

As we promised, there are changes coming for 2010. We're still in process of updating the product websites, but here is a synopsis of the changes coming for 2010:

• Mr Walleye Super RTR - A brand new idea by Gary to address the need for an even more affordable rod in these tough economic times. 5 models priced at $34.99.
• Roland Martin's Gut Saver - A revolutionary product, it's a cushion for the butt end of your rod which will alleviate pressure and abrasion from the rod end resting against your hip, or belly.
• Roland Martin Signature Series -A brand new rod line designed for the "lunchpail fisherman", as Roland says. It's an affordable, performance rod starting at $49.99. Signature Series will be available in mid-late 2010.
• 2 New Mrs Walleye models - We add a 7'0" Medium Light spinning and a 6'4" Medium Light casting model.
• New Mr Walleye Pack Rod - We finally get to introducing the 6'6" Medium Heavy 4-piece pack rod in an embroidered, zippered cordura tube. It's the finest pack rod made, bar none!
• Product Hiatus for Superpro, Select, and a few Series models - Unfortunately consumer demand for high end rods is waning in a poor economy, and we will continue to sell remaining Superpro stock and honor all warranty until we bring it back in the future. If you've ever picked one up, you're one of those that understands how good this rod is. It will be coming back, albeit in the future. Select production was canceled at the last minute due to commitment cancellations we received just as we were starting production. In light of the economic conditions, Select will be put off for a few more years just like Superpro. Look for both lines to re-emerge in the future.
• Product End of Life for Tournament Grade I - Roland's TG1 is a top of the line bass rod. However when our major retail partner backed out of the deal, we were forced to look at an alternate plan for this series. In the end, we decided the TG1 was best suited to be retired, so Roland could produce the rod line he originally designed, Signature Series. Great deals are available for TG1 products, while they last!

Changes to Mr Walleye Product Line for 2010

We will be making some changes to the Mr Walleye product line for 2010. Most notibly, we will be discontinuing several models in the Series line, and discontinuing the Superpro line until further notice. Stay tuned for more details on specific changes in the next 2 weeks. A new product line is also in the works!

ProLine Passing on ICAST

ProLine Fishing has decided not to exihibit at this year's ICAST show in Orlando, July 15-17. We came to this decision after looking at the costs involved, as well as sales from last year's show in Las Vegas, at which we did exhibit. We find the costs of exhibiting at the show to be quite high, and showing little to no sales return. Last year, we went through considerable expense to attend the show in Las Vegas, and discovered attendance to be down from year before, and potential new customers had already made their plans and purchase commitments prior to the show. In addition, the membership dues associated with the ASA's business model make it exteremely hard on smaller companies such as ourselves. While we will not be exhibiting at the show, we will be in attendance in Orlando to facilitate some face to face meetings.

Revised Warranty Procedures

Effective today, ProLine has revised it's warranty program in an effort to make things run smoother, and provide consistent warranty service to our consumers. We have been made aware that some retailers did not understand the warranty coverage, or the proper procedure, and thus consumers were receiving confusing and often conflicting information.

Our new policy now states that all warranty claims are to be conducted directly with ProLine, unless the retailer where you purchased your product has an over-the-counter replacement program. If you are in doubt, you can check the warranty page on our product websites to see a list of retailers providing this service. If your retailer has an over-the-counter warranty replacement program, you return the item to the store in which you purchased it for replacement. All other claims need to follow the procedure listed on our warranty pages, and return product to ProLine for evaluation.

University of Mr Walleye - New Website nearly finished!

There's been quite a bit of work on the Mr Walleye website. Revisions to product pages, images, and text. One of the new features we will introduce is called simply, "University". It's a collection of tips, each written for a specific method or technique, written by Gary himself. There are also some in-depth articles that cover more material on a wide range of topics. Watch for the "University" nav button, which will appear soon. We hope this helps you catch more fish!

Mr. Walleye® Series Website Enhancements

We have added additional content to our Mr. Walleye® Series website, including Gary's columns and articles you may have read in the Minneapolis StarTribune newspaper. In addition we have a complete listing of Gary's Tournament schedule for this year, and an appearance and seminar schedule. We've answered some common questions in the form of a Q&A with our staff, and provided some linking to Gary's sponsors as well. Soon we will be adding info and bios on Gary's sponsorship team, Mr. Walleye® Specialties, Inc, to give you more in depth information into Gary's 12-member team. Lastly you will soon find direct links to short instructional videos, showing off how to use the right equipment and the right techniques to catch more fish.

2008 Products Now Shipping

ProLine Fishing has begun shipments of 2008 Roland Martin Tournament Grade I and Mr. Walleye Series rods to retailers and distributors.

The brand-new Roland Martin line has seen high interest from retail and consumers alike. Initial ordering has been strong, and we are fielding many requests from retailers to carry the product line. We expect increasing interest throughout the 1st quarter as consumer awareness of the line increases, especially with Roland's use of the rods in his "Fishing with Roland Martin" show on Versus.

Our Mr. Walleye products have also experienced strong demand so far this year, as we added 3 new models to the base line, and 5 new Superpro models. The rod series finished with better than expected sales for 2007, and we expect to grow by another 30% during 2008 as well.

Currently we are working with Roland on new products for the 2009 season, to include some items outside the Bass market. We are also set to introduce a wide range of additions to the Mr. Walleye product lines, to include some specialty rods for the saltwater market, and some great new products for the spring freshwater market. We are also going to introduce Gary's ice rods for the 2008-9 winter season shortly.

Roland Martin and ProLine Fishing to Market New Rod Line

MINNEAPOLIS, July 11 /PRNewswire/ -- ProLine Fishing, Inc. has entered into a multi-year agreement with Roland Martin to design and produce a series of fishing rods to be marketed under the brand label "Roland Martin Tournament Grade".
